Friendly Match between Iraqi Olympic Football Team and First Police Team in Basra Governorate, Baghdad.
On Sunday, the Iraqi Olympic football team is scheduled to face off against the first police team in a friendly match at Al-Mina Stadium in Basra Governorate. The Iraqi Olympic team, led by coach Radhi Shanishil, is currently training in Basra in preparation for the upcoming AFC U-23 Championship in Qatar next month. Similarly, the police team, under the guidance of Egyptian coach Moamen Suleiman, is also undergoing intensive training.
The Al-Shorta Sports Club, gearing up for the second stage of the Iraq Stars League, recently secured a dominant victory in a friendly match against the Basra Oil team. The team’s training camp in Basra has been instrumental in fine-tuning their skills for upcoming league and cup competitions. Their next challenge awaits them against the Iraqi Olympic team at the Olympic Port Stadium, marking the conclusion of their training camp before returning to Baghdad on the 28th of this month.
Team manager Hashem Reda has confirmed that all players, barring Ahmed Yahya who is recovering from an injury and expected to rejoin the team in two weeks, are in top form and ready to compete. Currently, the Al-Shorta team is positioned in second place in the Iraqi Stars Football League standings, just 3 points behind the league leaders, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya team.
