First Edition of the Qatar Stars League 2024 E-League Tournament Announcement and Details
The inaugural Qatar Stars League 2024 will kick off on March 21 at the Farcho City Hall in Doha. Twelve teams, representing Expo Stars League clubs for the 2023-2024 season, will participate in this new e-League venture.
The tournament aims to delve into the realm of e-sports, aligning with the current surge in gaming popularity. By engaging with this digital sphere, the Qatar Stars League hopes to nurture talent, broaden societal involvement, and bolster the Qatari e-sports team.
FIFA 24 by EA Sports will serve as the battlefield for this competition, adopting a one-on-one playing format. Teams have been distributed into two groups through a lottery system, with the top four in each group advancing to the quarter-finals, then the semis, leading to the ultimate clash for glory.
The clubs comprising the first group are Al-Shamal, Al-Duhail, Muaither, Al-Gharafa, Qatar, and Al-Sadd. Meanwhile, the second group features Al-Wakrah, Al-Rayyan, Al-Ahly, Al-Markhiya, Al-Arabi, and Umm Salal.
The overall winner earns the opportunity to represent Qatari clubs in the 2024 Electronic Sports World Cup qualifiers. Additionally, the Qatar Stars League has inked sponsorship deals with “Visit Qatar” and Al Kass Sports Channels to elevate the tournament’s reach and impact.
Following a press conference at the league’s headquarters on March 13, the tournament’s logo and intricacies were unveiled. Mark your calendars for March 21, 22, and 23, with each day dedicated to different stages of the competition – group matches, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the grand finale.
