Brazilian Left Back Murilo Henrique Reveals Contract details with JDT and Plans to Bring New Direction to Malaysia
Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) newest addition, left back Murilo Henrique, recently signed a contract that has come to light thanks to Brazilian media reports. Hailing from Espirito Santo, Brazil, Murilo brings nearly 6 years of experience playing in Finland to the Southern Tigers, injecting a fresh perspective into Malaysian football. His presence on the squad will undoubtedly add a new layer of competition for established players La’vere Corbin Ong and Oscar Arribas. In an exclusive interview with Brazilian outlet A Gazeta (The Gazette), Murilo shared his reasons for leaving Finland, despite a successful stint there. He mentioned that he had been contemplating a change after three years in Finland and felt that JDT’s two-year contract offer provided him with the security and stability he desired. Murilo expressed his happiness and motivation to embark on this new journey with JDT. While he acknowledged that communication could be a challenge when working in foreign countries, he highlighted that many JDT players are proficient in English, simplifying his transition. Murilo emphasized the importance of effective communication on the field, especially in a team with a significant number of Spanish-speaking players. With an impressive track record of 3 goals and 27 assists in almost 103 professional matches, Murilo is expected to be a key asset for JDT, particularly during the upcoming AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) season in 2024/25.
