Police Tero Faces Heavy Defeat Against Johor Darul Ta’zim FC in Closed Friendly Match
Thai League 1 club Police Tero faced a crushing 5-0 defeat at the hands of Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT FC) in a closed friendly match held at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium (SSI). The loss was confirmed by a recent post from the JDTFC Facebook page.
JDT FC has a history of success against Thai teams, particularly on the AFC Champions League (ACL) stage. In the 2023-2024 season, the Southern Tigers triumphed over BG Pathum United twice in Group I matches. Additionally, in 2021, JDT FC secured a victory and a draw against Ratchaburi, another Thai League 1 club.
The friendly match was part of Police Tero’s training camp in Johor Bahru, where they utilized the facilities of JDT FC, under the guidance of former Selangor FC manager Tan Cheng Hoe. This exposure to the 10-time consecutive Super League champions is expected to benefit Police Tero in the remainder of their Thai League 1 campaign.
As of now, The Silver Shield Dragon finds themselves in the league’s relegation zone, having accrued 20 points from 21 games. They are looking to turn their fortunes around when they face Muangthong United on March 31.
