KL City FC Suffers Major Setback as President and Coach Resign
KL City FC was hit hard with the departure of two influential figures from the team. According to Astro Arena Journalist Fina Nasrom, the President of the Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA), Khalid Samad, officially tendered his resignation recently. Khalid had been serving as the president of the association since 2019, marking the end of his tenure.
Adding to the significant exits, the team’s coach from Croatia, Nenad Bacina, also announced his departure. Bacina took to his personal Instagram account to express his gratitude and bid farewell to KL City FC. He acknowledged the privilege of working with friends and colleagues, highlighting the inherent challenge of parting ways after a successful collaboration. Bacina thanked the management, players, assistant coaches, coaching staff, and loyal fans for their support throughout his time with the club.
The announcement on Instagram garnered responses from former players who had been coached by Bacina, as well as members of the KL City coaching staff. Notable names such as Akram Mahinan, Sebastian Avanzini, Fadhli Shas, and goalkeeper coach Guilherme Almeida conveyed their well wishes for Bacina’s future endeavors.
With both Khalid Samad and Nenad Bacina stepping down from their respective roles, KL City FC faces a period of transition. The departures of these key figures signify a significant change within the club’s leadership and coaching setup. As the team navigates this period of adjustment, the support and dedication of players, coaching staff, and fans will be crucial in maintaining momentum and striving for success in future endeavors. KL City FC will need to regroup and adapt as they prepare for the challenges that lie ahead without their former president and coach leading the way.
