FC Goa Clinches 2-1 Victory Against Bengaluru FC in Thrilling ISL Showdown
In a thrilling showdown at the Fatorda Stadium, FC Goa emerged victorious over Bengaluru FC with a 2-1 win in the ISL 2023-24 clash. This triumph propelled the Gaurs to the third spot in the standings, accumulating 36 points from their 10th win in 19 games, marking a remarkable rebound from their recent three-game losing streak.
The game kicked off with Bengaluru FC taking the lead early on, with Shivaldo Singh finding the back of the net just two minutes into the match. However, FC Goa quickly responded with attacking intent, but the visitors’ defense remained resilient, denying several goal-scoring opportunities.
In the 22nd minute, FC Goa’s persistence paid off as Boris Singh’s shot deflected off Odei Onaindia and past the goalkeeper, leveling the score at 1-1. The first half ended with both teams creating chances, heading into the break with a tied scoreline.
The second half saw a crucial moment in the 47th minute when Suresh Singh of Bengaluru FC received a red card, reducing the visitors to ten players. Despite this setback, the Blues fought valiantly, but Boris Singh struck again in the 81st minute, securing a 2-1 lead for FC Goa.
Despite Bengaluru FC’s efforts to equalize, FC Goa held on to claim a hard-fought victory. The match showcased the Gaurs’ determination and resilience, with Boris Singh standing out with his impressive performance.
Following this win, FC Goa is gearing up to face Hyderabad FC on April 5th, while Bengaluru FC will take on Odisha FC on March 30th after the international break.
