2024 FAS Grassroots Coaching Course Concludes at Republic Polytechnic – Highlights and Testimonials

The 2024 FAS Grassroots Coaching Course at Republic Polytechnic concluded with 20 participants focusing on developing young players aged six to nine years old. Lead by Mr. Isa Haleem and Ms. Yeong Sheau Shyan, the course covered essential theoretical and practical aspects like the “Characteristics of Children” and “Qualities of a Good Coach,” as well as the “Components of Coaching Session.”

Participants were provided the opportunity to plan and deliver coaching sessions, receiving valuable feedback from experienced Coach Developers to enhance their coaching skills. Following the course, a 16-hour attachment at football academies awaits the participants to gain real-world experience.

Mr. Bernard Tan, an alumni of RP’s Diploma in Sport Coaching, emphasized the enjoyment of the coaching process, benefiting both coaches and players involved. Similarly, Ms. K Harini highlighted the importance of enhancing the learning and fun element of football for young players.

The Lead Coach Developer, Mr. Isa Haleem, commended the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants in delivering their sessions and acquiring knowledge. The course aimed to provide a solid foundation for the participants to excel in their coaching journey.
