PSSI Disciplinary Commission Imposes Heavy Sanctions on PSS Sleman Player Wahyudi Hamisi
The PSSI Disciplinary Commission has issued severe sanctions against PSS Sleman’s Wahyudi Hamisi. He has been suspended from participating in three matches and slapped with a hefty fine of IDR 25 million.
This action was taken in response to Hamisi’s conduct during the BRI Liga 1 2023/2024 game against Persebaya Surabaya on March 3 at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium.
During the match, Hamisi kicked the head of fallen player Bruno Moreira. Additionally, he made a disrespectful gesture towards the opposing Bajul Ijo players by raising his middle finger.
In their official statement released on Monday, the Disciplinary Commission highlighted that Hamisi had committed a serious offense against an opponent and had displayed unsporting behavior by showing the obscene gesture.
As a consequence of his actions, Hamisi will be sidelined for the next three matches starting from the date of the decision. Moreover, he has been ordered to pay a fine of IDR 25 million.
The PSSI Commissioner stated that these penalties are being enforced to serve as a deterrent against unacceptable behavior on the field. It is crucial to maintain discipline and uphold the values of fair play in football.
Hamisi’s actions have not only resulted in personal consequences for him but also reflect poorly on his team. Such misconduct tarnishes the image of the sport and undermines the spirit of sportsmanship that all players are expected to embody.
Moving forward, it is essential for all players to adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the governing bodies. Respect for fellow competitors, officials, and the game itself should be paramount in every player’s mindset.
With these sanctions in place, it is hoped that players will think twice before engaging in any form of misconduct on the field. The integrity of football must be preserved, and steps must be taken to ensure that such behavior is not tolerated in the future.
