Syafiq Ahmad Opens Up About Loan Move to Kedah Darul Aman FC and National Team Goals
The latest addition to Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC), Syafiq Ahmad, has opened up about his loan move to the club, citing the need for regular playing time as his primary motivation. In a recent interview on Kedah’s official YouTube channel, Syafiq revealed his lack of game minutes at Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT FC) in recent seasons. The 28-year-old striker, who started only 11 times in all competitions during the 2023 season, expressed his eagerness to reignite his performance with Sang Kenari and earn a recall to the national team, Harimau Malaya.
“The main reason for my transfer is to get more game time. As a player, I truly require those minutes on the field,” Syafiq explained. “It’s crucial if I aspire to represent the national team again. With the upcoming World Cup 2026 qualification matches, I see this as an opportunity to prove my worth for a national team comeback.”
Syafiq is one of four new players eligible to join Kedah, alongside Rizal Ghazali, Irfan Zakaria, and Zamri Pin Ramli. In addition, rumors have surfaced regarding former Terengganu winger Sony Norde potentially joining the team as Kedah’s latest international signing.
The announcement of these new additions has sparked excitement among Kedah fans, as they anticipate the impact these players will have on the team’s performance in the upcoming season. With Syafiq’s hunger for game time driving him to showcase his skills on the field, KDA FC supporters are hopeful that his presence will bolster the squad’s attacking prowess and lead to success on the pitch.
As the football community eagerly awaits the beginning of the new season, all eyes are on Kedah Darul Aman FC and their revamped lineup, featuring promising talents like Syafiq Ahmad and the potential addition of Sony Norde. With high expectations for the team’s performance in the upcoming competitions, Sang Kenari’s supporters are eagerly anticipating the exciting journey that lies ahead.
