Kedah Darul Aman Receives Seven-Figure Reward and Bolsters Squad for 2023 Super League Season
Kedah Darul Aman, a prominent team in the Super League, recently received a substantial seven-figure reward to boost their efforts on the field. Under the leadership of Nafuzi Zain, the team impressed with a solid 4th place finish in the 2023 Super League season.
This achievement was made possible by a talented roster of both young up-and-comers and seasoned veterans, all working together to tackle the challenges presented by their opponents. The success of securing a top 4 spot in the Malaysian Super League earned Kedah a generous distribution sum from the Malaysian Football League (MFL).
The distribution model adopted by the MFL for the 14 Super League clubs this season marked a significant increase of over 96.55%, amounting to a total of RM15.675 million – a substantial rise from the RM7.975 million distributed in the previous season. This enhanced distribution means that the top six clubs in the league stand to bring home more than RM1 million each.
Moreover, even the team finishing at the bottom of the league table is set to receive a substantial reward of at least RM600,000, a marked improvement from the RM250,000 allocated in the 2022 season. Kedah’s share of this distribution pot amounts to a total of RM1.2 million, providing a solid financial backbone for their future endeavors.
In another positive turn of events, Kedah further bolstered their squad by adding several well-known Malaysian League players to their ranks. Notable names like Syafiq Ahmad, Irfan Zakaria, and Rizal Ghazali have joined the team, adding depth and experience to their lineup.
The injection of fresh talent and the financial boost from the increased distribution are sure to set Kedah on a path towards continued success in future seasons. As they look ahead to upcoming challenges in the Super League, Kedah Darul Aman appears primed and ready to make their mark on the Malaysian football scene.
