Perlis United FC Secures RM25 Million Sponsorship for Super League

Perlis United FC Receives RM25 Million Sponsorship, Potential Entry to Super League 2024/25

Perlis United FC (PUFC) of the M3 League has secured a lucrative sponsorship deal worth RM25 million, paving the way for potential participation in the Super League for the 2024/25 season. The Malaysian Football League (MFL) has mandated PUFC to meet certain conditions to obtain a conditional extraordinary license, allowing them to fill the 14th slot in the upcoming Super League campaign.

Following a recommendation from the First Instance Body (FIB), the MFL Board of Directors thoroughly reviewed PUFC’s application, alongside submissions from other clubs such as Imigresen FC, KL Rovers FC, and Harini Selangor FT. This decision came after Kelantan FC’s bid for a National License was rejected by the MFL Club Licensing Appeal Committee (AB).

Each applicant had to fulfill specific criteria outlined in the MFL Club Licensing Regulations 2023 Edition, encompassing Infrastructure, Staff & Administration, Sports, Legal, Finance, and Business. PUFC stood out with a sponsorship letter totaling RM25 million from potential backers like Mudim Zakaria Food Industries Sdn Bhd, Ivory Properties Group Berhad, MA Intelligent Holdings Sdn Bhd, and Al Razi Holding (M) Sdn Bhd. They further solidified their financial standing by presenting a RM5 million check from one of their sponsors and letters of support from the Perlis state government and the Perlis Football Association.

Despite their promising financial support, PUFC was only granted an Extraordinary Conditional License by the MFL Board of Directors, contingent upon meeting specified requirements and criteria outlined by the FIB. PUFC officials have assured compliance with these stipulations during their presentation, prompting MFL to await the submission of sponsorship documentation and funds to finalize the licensing process.

The influx of financial backing has undoubtedly bolstered Perlis United’s prospects of competing at a higher level, signaling a potential rise for the M3 League outfit as they set their sights on joining the elite ranks of the Super League.
