Perlis United Closer to Promotion to 2024/2025 Super League Using Conditional License

Perlis United is edging closer to securing promotion to the 2024/2025 Super League with the help of a conditional license authorized by the Malaysian Football League (MFL). Astro Arena reporter Fina Nasrom revealed this development via her social media platform, indicating that Perlis must clear all outstanding debts by the end of March to solidify their spot.

Despite speculation surrounding Kedah Darul Aman FC and Kuala Lumpur City FC’s potential relegation to the M3 League, both teams are reportedly set to remain in the Super League competition. Perlis’s conditional license hinges on resolving financial obligations before the stipulated deadline.

Having last graced the Super League stage in 2011, Perlis faced relegation to the Premier League due to their bottom-placed finish. Subsequent seasons saw the team’s performance fluctuate until a significant setback in 2014, relegating them to the FAM League after finishing 11th in the Premier League.

Should Perlis make a return to the Super League, the football landscape in northern peninsular Malaysia will witness a resurgence with four teams representing the region in the top tier. Alongside Kedah Darul Aman FC, Penang FC, and Perak FC, Perlis United’s potential promotion promises increased vitality to football in the north.

With the emphasis on resolving financial obligations looming large for Perlis United’s Super League aspirations, the club’s trajectory and potential resurgence in Malaysian football represent a compelling narrative. As the deadline approaches, Perlis’s fate hangs in the balance, with fans eagerly anticipating their return to the prestigious Super League stage.
