Al Rayyan Defeats Al Wakrah 3-0 to Secure Fourth Consecutive Victory

Al Rayyan secured their fourth consecutive win by defeating Al Wakrah 3-0 at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium in the Expo Stars League competition. The goals came from Roder Geddes in the 41st and 61st minutes, and Ashraf Ben Sharqi in the 45th + 7th minute. Al Rayyan played with 10 men after Andre Amaro’s 29th-minute dismissal. The victory lifted Al Rayyan to 31 points, surpassing Al Wakrah’s 28 points in fourth place.

The match started with Al Rayyan on the offensive, pressing early for a goal. Despite Al Wakrah’s attempts to counter, Al Rayyan maintained control. Roger Guedes missed an early chance in the seventh minute. Ayoub Assal threatened for Al Wakrah, but missed the mark. A contentious penalty decision in the 29th minute saw Andre Amaro sent off, altering the course of the game.

In the first half, Al Rayyan took the lead through Roger Geddes and Ashraf Ben Sharqi’s goals, going into halftime with a 2-0 advantage. The second half saw Al Rayyan’s dominance continue, with Geddes extending the lead to 3-0 in the 61st minute. Despite being a man down, Al Rayyan’s defense held strong, denying Al Wakrah any clear opportunities.

Al Wakrah pushed to find a consolation goal, but Fahad Younis’ save denied Mohammed bin Yatto’s effort in the 81st minute. The match concluded with Al Rayyan securing a clean sheet and claiming all three points. Al Rayyan’s impressive form sees them climb the league table, while Al Wakrah will look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.
