Buriram United stages a comeback win against Bangkok United in Thai League 1 showdown

Buriram United made a stunning comeback against Bangkok United, overcoming a 2-0 deficit to secure a crucial 3-2 victory. The Thunder Castle’s coach, Arthur Papas, praised his players’ mentality for their resilience in the match. Bangkok United took the lead with goals from Willen Mota in the 8th and 38th minutes, putting Buriram in a tough spot.

However, Brazilian striker Guilherme Bissoli stepped up to the challenge and scored twice in the 43rd and 52nd minutes, leveling the playing field. Thai striker Supachai Chaided then sealed the victory for Buriram with a header in the 77th minute. The defending champions now sit comfortably at the top of the Thai League 1 table with 45 points, five points ahead of second-placed Port.

Papas expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance, highlighting their determination to fight back and secure the win. Despite the slow start and conceding early goals, Buriram United showed great character to turn the tide in their favor.

In other matches, Muang Thong United claimed a 2-1 victory over PT Prachuap, while Uthai Thani and Chonburi settled for a 1-1 draw. The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) also made an announcement regarding its administration, confirming Patit Suphaphong as the secretary-general under new president Nualphan Lamsam’s leadership.
