The meeting, held on Monday, March 4, 2024, focused on crucial agenda items, including the appointment of key positions like the association’s secretary-general. Mr. Patit Supaphong was approved to serve as the Secretary-General of the Football Association of Thailand under Madame Pang’s leadership.
Among the key decisions taken during the meeting, it was decided to explore the possibility of renting VAR technology to assist referees in Thai League 2 matches, aiming to address ongoing concerns regarding refereeing standards. Additionally, efforts will be made to move away from drawing lots to determine outcomes in the Thai League 1, with a focus on enhancing referee development to ensure higher quality officiating.
Furthermore, responsibilities for overseeing various national teams were delineated, with the senior Thai national team falling under the purview of the Football Association. The Thai national teams U23 and U20 will be managed by Pawin Bhirombhakdi from BG Pathum United and Newin Chidchob from Buriram United, respectively. The oversight of the Thailand National Team U17 will remain with the Football Association.
Madame Pang, along with the appointed team, will not receive salaries, emphasizing a commitment to transparency. An audit committee will be established to ensure accountability. Financial support will also be extended to clubs, with all teams in Thai League 3 set to receive a lump sum amount, while teams in Thai League 2 will receive payments in two installments.
In terms of broadcasting rights for the upcoming Thai League season 2024/25, arrangements will be managed by Madame Pang, Pawin Bhirombhakdi, Wilak Lothong, and TQM.
