Norazlan Razali confirms retirement and transition to coaching career
Former Selangor FC goalkeeper Norazlan Razali has officially announced his retirement at the age of 39. The decision was revealed during a signing ceremony event between Derrick Gan and Johan & Joann at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.
After a lengthy and successful career as a goalkeeper, Norazlan believes that now is the right time for him to transition into coaching. Expressing his excitement for this new chapter, he stated, “So far, as I said at the beginning, Train Like A Pro is the starting point for me to develop my talent in the field of coaching. Before I played and now I’m making the transition to become a coach. And this is a good platform for me to continue my career as a coach. God willing, if you follow that is the answer.”
With a recognizable name in Malaysian football, Norazlan has represented various teams throughout his career, including Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT FC), Selangor FC, Felda United, Melaka United FC, and Kuching City FC. Noteworthy achievements during his playing days include winning the Super League title with JDT in 2014 and the Malaysia Cup with Selangor in 2015.
As he bids farewell to his playing days, Norazlan looks forward to sharing his wealth of experience and knowledge with aspiring young talents as he embarks on a coaching journey. His retirement marks the end of an era on the field but signals the beginning of a new chapter in his football career off the pitch.
