Mumbai City FC’s Vikram Partap Singh has clinched the prestigious Emerging Player of the Month award for February 2024, marking a significant milestone as the first player from his team to achieve this recognition this season. Singh’s standout performances throughout the month were instrumental in propelling Mumbai City FC back into contention for the Indian Super League (ISL) League Shield.

After a disappointing start with a loss to Jamshedpur FC, the Islanders rallied with an unbeaten streak in the subsequent four matches. Singh, a key figure in these matches, showcased his skill with three crucial goals, boasting an impressive goal-scoring rate of one goal every 117 minutes and an expected goal (xG) rate of 1.13.

Amassing 351 minutes of game time across the month, the 22-year-old forward demonstrated maturity and responsibility on the field, evident in his statistics of 21 touches in the opposition box, 20 duels won, 14 ball possessions gained, and a passing accuracy of 70.1%. Singh’s stellar performance garnered unanimous approval from the expert panel, securing his position as the unanimous choice for the award over ten other nominees.

Joining the ranks of previous winners Jay Gupta, Vibin Mohanan, and Isak Vanlalruatfela, Singh’s achievement highlights his growing impact within the league. With his exceptional form and contributions to Mumbai City FC, Singh is poised to play a pivotal role in the team’s upcoming matches. As the Emerging Player of the Month, he continues to showcase his potential and talent in the competitive landscape of the ISL, solidifying his status as a rising star in Indian football.
