Exciting Weekend Matches in Thai League 1: Port Eyeing the Top Spot

Port FC has a chance to catch up to Thai League 1 leaders Buriram United if they secure an away victory against Khon Kaen United this Saturday. Port currently sits in second place with 39 points from 19 matches, just three points behind Buriram United. Meanwhile, Buriram United will face off against Bangkok United on Sunday, who are in third place in the standings.

Port FC and Khon Kaen United head into the match with different results from their previous outings. Port FC managed to defeat Trat 1-0, while Khon Kaen United fell to the bottom-ranked PT Prachuap 1-0. However, Port FC will be missing key players like star striker Hamilton Suares due to injury and defender Chalermsak Aukkee, who is serving a suspension.

On the other hand, BG Pathum United, currently in fourth place with 34 points, will be aiming to keep their title hopes alive as they face off against Lamphun Warriors. BG Pathum United will be without Teerasil Dangda and Chananan Pombuppha, who received a red card in their previous match, but will welcome back playmaker Chanathip Songkrasin, Danilo Alves, and Freddy.

In other fixtures, Police Tero, under the guidance of new coach Tan Cheng Hoe, will take on Nakhon Pathom United, while Sukhothai will host Chiang Rai. It will be an action-packed weekend in the Thai League 1 as teams battle for crucial points in the title race.
