Malaysian Football League Evaluating Teams for 2024/2025 Super League Participation

With preparations underway for the upcoming 2024/2025 Super League season, the Malaysian Football League (MFL) is currently assessing potential teams to participate in the prestigious competition. Perlis United has emerged as a contender for a spot in the Super League, as reported by Astro Arena correspondent Fina Nasrom.

In order to secure a place in the Super League, Perlis must undergo an interview session organized by the MFL to apply for an extraordinary license. Perlis is among four teams set to be interviewed by the MFL on Monday, with the other three teams being the top performers in the 2023 M3 League competition – Imigresen FC, KL Rovers, and Harini FT.

The outcome of the interview process will determine whether Perlis United will advance to compete in the Super League or remain in the M3 League for the upcoming season. Perlis United concluded the 2023 M3 League in 8th place after accruing 32 points from 24 matches.

Despite winning the 2023 M3 League title, Imigresen FC is considered a frontrunner for the Super League. However, the team’s Technical Director, Datuk Zainal Abidin Hassan, expressed reservations about the team’s readiness to make the leap to the Super League at this stage.

As the evaluation process unfolds, Perlis United and the other aspiring teams are eagerly awaiting the MFL’s decision regarding their participation in the upcoming Super League season. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
