1. Krychowiak leads Abha to crucial victory over Al Tai
2. Gray’s late winner secures vital win for Al Riyadh at Al Okhdood
Abha claimed a vital victory over Al Tai thanks to a Grzegorz Krychowiak brace. The Polish midfielder opened the scoring in the 38th minute after Meshal Al Mutairi set him up. Krychowiak could have added a second before halftime, but Al Tai goalkeeper Victor Braga denied him with a quick reaction save.
After the break, Abha doubled their lead through Krychowiak again, courtesy of a pass from Al Ali. Despite Al Tai’s attempts to get back into the game, Abha’s defense held firm. The win sees Pitso Mosimane’s side level with Al Tai on 18 points, putting them just two points away from safety.
In another match, Al Riyadh secured a crucial win over Al Okhdood with a late winner from Andre Gray. Saviour Godwin had given Al Okhdood the lead before goals from Knowledge Musona and Gray turned the game around in Al Riyadh’s favor. Vitor had a mixed night in goal for Al Okhdood, making crucial saves but also committing errors that proved costly.
The win sees Al Riyadh move five points clear of the relegation zone, level on points with Al Okhdood. Gray’s goal marked his fifth in the RSL campaign, highlighting his importance to the team.
Both Abha and Al Riyadh will be pleased with their results as they look to secure their status in the league. The victories provide a much-needed boost in their battle against relegation, while Al Tai and Al Okhdood will need to regroup and bounce back in their next matches to avoid being dragged further into the danger zone.
