Rumors circulating in the Malaysian League suggest that Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), the reigning champions, are on the hunt for an imported goalkeeper to bolster their squad for the upcoming season. The rumors gained traction following a statement from JDT’s Chief Executive Officer, Alistair Edwards, regarding the acquisition of four new players – Azam Azmi, Manuel Hidalgo, Ryan, and Declan Lambert.

Although JDT has already secured the services of these four players, they are actively seeking a goalkeeper to complete their roster for the 2024/25 season. Independent football analyst Juan Budiman shed some light on the situation, hinting at an imminent addition to the Southern Tigers’ squad.

Initial speculations suggested that Selangor goalkeeper Sam Somerville might be the target for JDT.
