Persib Goalkeeper Eager to Represent Philippines in 2026 World Cup Qualification

Persib Bandung goalkeeper, Kevin Ray Mendoza, has received a call-up to the Philippine National Team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The talented shot-stopper expressed his excitement at the opportunity to represent his country on the international stage.

Kevin Ray Mendoza has been in fine form for Persib Bandung in the Indonesian Liga 1, drawing attention from national team selectors. His consistent performances between the posts have not gone unnoticed, leading to his inclusion in the Philippine squad for the upcoming World Cup qualification campaign.

Bojan Hodak, the coach of Persib Bandung, is not willing to release Kevin Ray Mendoza, even though his reliable goalkeeper has been called up to the Philippine national team for the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

The Croatian coach stated that he has considerations regarding releasing Kevin Ray Mendoza. This is because the Philippine national team is scheduled to play against Iraq on March 21, 2024, and March 26, 2024.

“We will see whether he will go or not; he will talk first with the coach of the Philippine national team because he will only return on the 27th, and then we will play on the 28th (against PSS Sleman). So, we will see later whether he will go or not,” said Bojan Hodak at Sidolig Stadium in Bandung
