“Al Rayyan Secures Victory Over Al Arabi in Expo Stars League Match”

Al Rayyan secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Al Arabi in a match at Al Thumama Stadium on Friday, March 1, 2024. This win places Al Rayyan in third position with 28 points, trailing Al Wakrah on goal difference, while Al Arabi sits at 18 points.

Brazilian standout Roger Guedes netted a hat-trick for Al Rayyan, scoring in the 22nd and 47th minutes and adding another from a penalty in the 56th minute. Youssef Msakni found the net for Al Arabi in the 49th minute, and Omar Al-Souma converted a penalty in the 76th minute.

The first goal came in the 22nd minute when Roger Guedes connected with a cross from Ahmed Al Menhali to give Al Rayyan a 1-0 lead. Al-Souma attempted a long-range shot in the 38th minute, but Fahd Younis saved it, maintaining Al Rayyan’s lead at halftime.

Al Rayyan extended their advantage early in the second half, with Roger Guedes scoring again in the 47th minute. Despite Al Arabi’s response with a goal from Youssef Al-Masakni, Al Rayyan maintained control. Guedes converted a penalty in the 56th minute to increase Al Rayyan’s lead to 3-1.

Al-Arabi managed to pull one back through Al-Souma’s penalty in the 76th minute after a red card was shown to Al Rayyan’s Al-Menhali. A late disallowed goal from Al Arabi denied them the chance to equalize as Al Rayyan held on for a 3-2 victory.

The match was filled with drama and intense moments, showcasing the competitive spirit of both teams. Al Rayyan’s clinical finishing and resilient defense proved to be the difference in a closely contested encounter.
