Nidzam Jamil Selected as Interim Coach for Selangor FC After Tan Cheng Hoe’s Departure

Tan Cheng Hoe and Selangor FC have agreed to part ways, leading to the appointment of Nidzam Jamil as the interim coach, as confirmed by the Merah Kuning management in a recent media statement. Tan Cheng Hoe decided to leave Selangor FC to take on a coaching role at a club in Thailand, prompting the termination of his contract. During his tenure with Selangor FC, Tan Cheng Hoe achieved significant success, guiding the team to Runner-up positions in the 2022 Malaysia Cup and 2023 Malaysia Super League, as well as securing automatic qualification for the AFC Champions League 2 (ACL2) for the 2024/2025 season. The club expressed gratitude for his contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors.

Nidzam Jamil, who previously served as Selangor FC’s interim coach during the 2022 season following the departure of German coach Michael Feichtenbeiner, has now been entrusted with the interim head coach position once again. Transfermarkt data shows that Nidzam managed the team for five Super League matches in August to September 2022 before Cheng Hoe was appointed as Feichtenbeiner’s permanent successor.

As Nidzam assumes the temporary coaching role, Selangor FC’s management will commence a thorough selection process to identify a new head coach. With experience in leading the team in a previous interim capacity, Nidzam will be looking to provide stability and guidance during this transitional period.
