KDA FC Updates Ahead of New Season: Salary Arrears and Relegation Concerns
Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC), under the leadership of Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar, faces challenges ahead of the new season in May. The team is dealing with salary arrears, but the management is committed to resolving the issue.
A recent media release from KDA FC revealed that the MFL Club Licensing First Instance Body (FIB) has set a deadline of March 5 for settling outstanding salaries for the 2023 financial year. The team must resolve this before the MFL Board of Directors meeting on March 6.
To address the salary arrears, KDA FC’s management has secured funding approval from certain institutions. However, the funds will only be available in April, posing a challenge to meet the FIB deadline.
Struggling to obtain advance funds for immediate payment to players, officials, and administrative staff, KDA FC is at risk of relegation to the M3 League due to the unresolved salary arrears from the 2023 season.
Despite the challenges, Kedah is set to retain Nafuzi Zain as head coach, as he still has a contract with the team. With a rich history, KDA FC aims to navigate through these obstacles and prepare for the upcoming season.
