Murilo Henrique settling in well at JDT: Enjoying every moment in Malaysia
Murilo Henrique, the new addition to the Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) squad, is relishing his time since joining the Malaysian team. Recruited to bolster the squad’s lineup, the Brazilian player is seizing the opportunity presented by the departure of team stalwarts Leandro Velazquez and Diogo Luis Santo, who retired, affording him the chance to make his mark in the 2024/25 season.
Having recently arrived from SJK Seinajoki in Finland, Murilo Henrique engaged in rigorous training sessions alongside his new teammate Nicolao Dimitru ahead of the official team practices. Sharing his sentiments on social media, the versatile 29-year-old expressed his contentment, punctuating his post with red and blue emojis.
Capable of performing in various positions including left-back and left midfield, Murilo Henrique offers JDT tactical flexibility. With experience gleaned from playing 103 matches for his former club, Rio Ave Academy in Portugal, he brings a track record of 3 goals and 27 assists to the Malaysian outfit.
As JDT reconvened for full training following the return of players from national team duties, preparations for the upcoming season kicked into high gear. The team’s recent successes include clinching four domestic trophies in 2022 and achieving the milestone of scoring over 100 goals in the Super League last season.
Amidst high expectations and anticipation, Murilo Henrique’s integration into the JDT setup symbolizes a new chapter for the team as they seek to build on their past achievements and pursue further success in the forthcoming campaign.
