Lion City Sailors Unveil Dutch Midfielder Bart Ramselaar as Second Signing for 2024/25 Season
The Lion City Sailors have made an exciting acquisition by signing Dutch midfielder Bart Ramselaar for the upcoming 2024/25 Singapore Premier League (SPL) season. The club is aiming to challenge for the SPL title and make an impact in the Asian Football Confederation Champions League 2 (ACL2). Ramselaar, who joins from FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie, brings attacking prowess to the team and will partner with Maxime Lestienne, another former PSV Eindhoven player.
Having won the Eredivisie title with PSV and earned caps for the Netherlands national team, Ramselaar has a wealth of experience. His productive season at Utrecht in the 2021/22 campaign showcased his goal-scoring ability, which will be crucial for the Sailors. Head Coach Aleksandar Ranković and Sporting Director Badri Ghent are thrilled with the signing, believing Ramselaar’s skill set will enhance the team’s attacking threat and contribute to their ambitions of becoming a top club in Asia.
With UEFA Champions League experience under his belt, Ramselaar is eager to prove himself in a foreign league and help the Sailors achieve success in the SPL and ACL2. The 27-year-old is determined to make an impact, attract more fans to the stadium, and aid the team in their quest for silverware. His arrival adds to the squad’s European pedigree, alongside players like Richi, Maxime, Toni, and Rui Pires, as the Sailors continue to build a promising project from the Academy to the First Team.
Ramselaar’s signing represents a significant step for the club as they aspire to compete at the highest level both domestically and regionally. The Dutch midfielder’s blend of experience, skill, and ambition aligns well with the Sailors’ goals, and his presence is expected to elevate the team’s performance on the field. As the season approaches, all eyes will be on Ramselaar and the Sailors as they embark on their journey towards success in the SPL and ACL2.
