Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club Donates Ticket Sales to Palestinian Humanitarian Fund
Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club (JDT) has made a significant announcement regarding their ticket sales for matches at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium (SSI) this season. The club revealed that all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Palestinian humanitarian fund, in a gesture of solidarity with Palestine amidst the current crisis.
The decision to donate ticket sales was reportedly ordered by the club’s owner, Tunku Ismail (TMJ), with the Chief Executive Officer of JDT, Alistair Edwards, confirming the move. This decision comes in response to the distressing situation in Palestine, where the Palestinian people are enduring what has been described as a ‘genocide’ crisis due to relentless attacks by the Israeli Zionist regime.
In an official statement, Alistair Edwards expressed the club’s deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The announcement has garnered praise from local football fans, who commend JDT for their contribution to humanitarian efforts in Palestine and offer prayers for the well-being of the Palestinian people.
This act of generosity is not new for JDT, as the club has previously extended support to various causes. In the past, they have donated funds to aid flood victims in Pahang and Kelantan, as well as earthquake victims in Sabah. Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, JDT players even agreed to have part of their salaries deducted to support the Johor State Disaster Fund.
The altruistic actions of JDT serve as a beacon of hope and solidarity, setting an example for other Malaysian League teams to follow suit in supporting humanitarian causes and alleviating the burdens faced by communities in need. The football world looks to JDT as a shining example of compassion and unity in times of crisis, hoping that their contributions will inspire others to join in collective efforts for the greater good.
