Cristiano Ronaldo chasing record-breaking goal tally in Roshn Saudi League season

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to shine in the 2023-24 Roshn Saudi League season, with his recent goal against Al Fateh bringing his tally to an impressive 21 goals. The Al Nassr captain, who recently turned 39, has been a key player for his club throughout the campaign, missing only the opening match. Alongside his goal-scoring prowess, Ronaldo also leads the league in assists, with nine to his name.

With his sights set on surpassing individual and collective records, Ronaldo aims to break the highest-ever amount of goals scored in a single RSL season, currently held by Abderrazzaq Hamdallah with 34 goals in the 2018-19 season. Despite a slow start that season, Hamdallah went on a remarkable run, scoring 32 goals in his next 18 matches, ultimately claiming the Golden Boot with a significant lead over his competitors.

In comparison, Ronaldo began his goal-scoring spree in Matchweek 3 and has since netted 21 goals in 18 matches. Looking ahead, with 16 matches remaining in the season, Ronaldo has the opportunity to further increase his goal tally, potentially challenging Hamdallah’s record. Although a formidable task, if Ronaldo maintains his current form and fitness, he could potentially reach 35 goals by the end of the season.
