Binh Duong swaps out 2 foreign strikers for new talent

“Binh Duong Club Makes Changes to Foreign Players Ahead of V-League Sprint”

The first leg of the V-League 2023/24 season is coming to a close, prompting teams to make adjustments before the next phase. Becamex Binh Duong Club is following suit by changing their foreign players. French striker Elogo Edouard and Congolese striker Ibara Doniama are out of the team’s plans, with midfielder Janclesio Almeida being the sole remaining foreign player.

Edouard failed to score in his 10 appearances this season, while Doniama only managed one goal in a 1-1 draw against Viettel. In contrast, Almeida has found the net twice since the start of the campaign. The club has brought in Nigerian duo Onoja Joseph and Atshimene Charles as replacements, with their debut expected in the upcoming match against Hong Linh Ha Tinh on February 28.

Former Binh Duong player Doniama will face his old team in round 11, playing for Hong Linh Ha Tinh as a replacement for Stephen Gopey. Gopey, who scored once in nine matches, has been replaced by Doniama in the squad. Binh Duong currently sits in 3rd place after 10 rounds, just 2 points behind league leaders Nam Dinh.

The team’s coach, Le Huynh Duc, will be hoping that the new signings can help propel Binh Duong to the top of the table as they look to challenge for the V-League title. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
